People work for more than just money, they come to create friendships, learn, and have fun. In short, they yearn for an uplifting experience. Corporate leaders today therefore, are being called upon to be the new custodians of the Human Spirit." (Secretan, L., Spirit Work, 1998).
One does not need a title to be a leader. We are all responsible to observe the natural laws of teamwork in our quest to find a better way.
We are, after all, on our customers' payroll. The organization is just a convenient way for them to get the money to us. My job is to help educators:
* find ways to reach, teach, and assess all learners because our purpose is to help human beings grow;
* integrate technology to bring positive change within the system;
* explore the “employee as customer” concept to inspire one's soul and the soul of others;
* master a process of providing Suicide First Aid - www.livingworks.net.
I base my work on 3 fundamentals: “People 1st, Systems Change 2nd, and Technology, 3rd.”
I reside with my wife Barbara, 50+ percussion instruments, five computers, Julius the cat, and Brady the dog.
